Distilled Water Suppliers

As Distilled Water suppliers and manufacturers, we understand the importance of pure water whether it is to be used in the home, in the laboratory or in industry.  Distilled Water is one of the purist forms of water, produced by evaporating water and using the distillates. Clear and colourless, free from visible impurities and with a neutral pH, Distilled Water presents no acidity or alkalinity and has a low conductivity, perfect when only the purist form of water is required.

As leaders in the field of Distilled Water suppliers, we are pleased to explain our distillation process to you.  Our distillation process involves heating water in a vessel until it reaches boiling point and produces water vapour or steam.  This water vapour or steam is collected in a separate clean container.  The water vapour is then cooled and as it cools, it condenses, returning to a liquid state.  This liquid is known as Distilled Water.  The trace elements, minerals and impurities are removed from the water and left behind in the heating vessel, leaving only pure, natural Distilled Water.

As Distilled Water suppliers, we understand that water distillation can be a slow process and for this reason Distilled Water tends to be more expensive than Deionized or Demineralized Water.  There are numerous 'pure' waters to choose from and you are welcome to speak to one of our friendly and professional Sales Staff if you would like to discuss the merits of Distilled Water vs Deionized Water, Distilled Water vs Demineralized Water and Distilled Water vs Tap Water.  We provide technical advice and support free of charge and our knowledgeable team will be delighted to help you with your bottled Distilled Water enquiries.

As Distilled Water suppliers, we offer Distilled Water for sale to laboratories where really pure water is needed.  In the lab Distilled Water is frequently used to produce standard solutions and other high quality and high purity solutions may also require the use of Distilled Water.  Specific lab Distilled Water applications include calibration in density metres, HPLC (High Pressure Liquid Chromatography) and AA (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry) analysis.  Distilled Water is used in these lab Distilled Water applications because it is very clean and contains virtually no contaminants.

Distilled Water uses also include certain industrial processes where the amount of impurity must be kept to a minimum.  As Distilled Water suppliers, we have a large demand for Distilled Water from the automotive industry which uses Distilled Water to 'top up' lead acid type batteries.  Trace elements and minerals commonly found in Tap Water can seriously reduce the lifespan of a car or truck battery which is why Distilled Water is preferred.  A less expensive type of water for use in the laboratory and industry is Deionised Water although it must be remembered that Deionised Water will contain some traces of impurities.

Keepers of home aquariums often prefer to use Distilled Water as its absence of trace elements reduces any risk to the fish.   However, care should be taken to ensure that home aquariums are not filled entirely with Distilled Water as tiny amounts of trace elements found in Tap Water can actually be of benefit to fish.

In the home, Distilled Water uses include use in steam irons because Tap Water can cause a build-up of residue which can block the steam vents in the iron sole plate.  Many manufacturers of steam irons now claim that Tap Water can nowadays be used in place of Distilled Water but some users claim that Distilled Water has better performance and helps to protect the lifespan of the iron.

Distilled Water should be stored at a temperature between 15 – 25 degrees C, away from sunlight and moisture.  Distilled Water should be kept  in a sealed container, avoiding excessive heat and cold e.g. frost.  Once the container is opened, Distilled Water will start to pick up trace elements in the atmosphere which will affect the conductivity, particularly where it picks up carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

Distilled Water presents no health risks apart from drowning and the transport regulations which cover Distilled Water classify it as a non-Hazardous material.  Our current Distilled Water delivery is UK wide but we would be delighted to discuss any specific requirements you may have for Distilled Water delivery.
